Resume Signal: AI CV Builder ("Resume Signal", "the app", "we", "us") is operated by Halo Enterprises Limited, trading as Resume Signal, of Plot A66, off Palabana Road, Waterfalls, Zambia. We are the controller of the personal information described below. This page explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to our website (tryresumesignal.com) and our Android app.

Information we collect

Account information: your email address and password (or your Google account identity, if you choose "Continue with Google"), handled by our authentication provider, Supabase. We never see your Google password.
Resume content: everything you enter, import or generate in the builder — name, contact details, photo (if you add one), work history, education, skills, summary and cover letters — stored so it is there next time you sign in.
Files and links you provide: resume files you upload (PDF, DOCX, DOC), text you paste from LinkedIn, and job descriptions or job-posting links you submit. These are used to fill your resume and tailor it to a job.
Subscription and payment status: whether you are on the free plan or Signal Pro, and a payment confirmation (transaction or purchase reference) from Flutterwave or Google Play. We do not receive or store your full card, mobile money or bank details.
Usage information: in-app events tied to your account (for example, that you completed an upgrade), your optimization usage count, and your IP address, which our servers use briefly for abuse and rate-limit protection.
On your device: your browser or app stores a small amount of data locally (such as your language choice, the last resume you opened, your sign-in session, and cached app files so the app loads quickly and works offline).

How we use this information

To provide the service: save and show your resume across sessions and devices, export PDF/DOCX files, and show your keyword-match and ATS-readiness results.
To generate AI-tailored resume content, cover letters and imports from the material you provide.
To enforce free-plan and Pro usage limits, and to unlock Pro features once you have paid.
To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fraud, and fix problems.
To contact you about your account (for example email confirmation or password reset) and to respond to support and refund requests.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your resume content for advertising.

AI processing

When you use an AI feature (optimizing a resume, drafting from a job title, importing an uploaded resume or LinkedIn text, or reading a job-posting link), the relevant content is sent to Anthropic, our AI provider, solely to generate the response you asked for. AI output can contain mistakes — please review everything before you send a resume to an employer.

Who else handles your data

Supabase — authentication and database storage.
Anthropic — AI generation, as described above.
Flutterwave — card and mobile-money payments on the web.
Google — Google Play Billing for purchases in the Android app, and Google sign-in if you choose it. Fonts on our pages may also be served by Google.
Netlify — hosts the website and our server functions.
Cloudflare — bot protection on sign-up and sign-in, where enabled.

These providers process data on our behalf or under their own terms, and some are located outside Zambia, so your information may be transferred and stored in other countries. We only share what is needed for each service to work. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Data retention

We keep your account and resume content for as long as your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account and resume data, except for limited records we must keep (for example payment records for accounting and legal reasons) and short-lived security logs.

Your choices and rights

You can edit or delete any resume content in the app at any time.
You can cancel your subscription at any time — see our Refund Policy.
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account and data by emailing SUPPORT_EMAIL.
Subject to applicable law, including Zambia's Data Protection Act, 2021, you may also object to or ask us to restrict certain processing, and complain to the relevant data-protection authority.

Security

We use reputable providers, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls to protect your information. No online service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Children's privacy

Resume Signal is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date. For significant changes we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
